Options Extended Hours FAQs

1、What is the trading time and support range for options extended hours?

Currently, the supported options extended hours are from 04:00 to 09:30 (ET) (the pre-market trading time for the corresponding US stocks); some active options for approximately 10 popular underlying stocks are supported.

2、Which options are available for extended hours trading?

You can identify whether an option is available for extended hours trading by checking the Extended hours tab on the option details page.

The range of options available for extended hours trading will continue to expand.

3、How can I view the market data for options extended hours?

When options extended hours trading begins, you can view the extended hours trading snapshots, time division, trading details, and best bid/ask data.

4、Will extended hours trading be conducted during US holidays?

Options extended hours trading follows the exchange's holiday calendar, and extended hours trading days correspond to regular trading days; no extended hours trading will be conducted during holidays.

For example, if Friday is a holiday, no extended hours trading will be conducted on Thursday evening or Friday morning.

5、Is an additional account required for options extended hours trading?

No, as long as you have an account for trading US stock options, you can trade extended hours options.

6、What are the trading fees for options extended hours trading?

The fees are the same as those for regular hours trading.

7、How can orders be placed for options extended hours trading, and what types of orders can be placed?

Options extended hours trading only support limit orders, which are valid as day orders.

Currently, there are two ways to place orders for options extended hours trading:

- On the trading floor, select Extended hours as the time frame and proceed to place your order.

- In the quick trading interface, light up the Extended hours icon and proceed to place your order.

8、Is short selling allowed in options extended hours?

No. Short selling is not available for extended hours trading.

9、Is early order placement allowed in options extended hours?

No, orders of options extended hours can only be placed during the extended hours.

10、How are positions and profits/losses calculated?

You can determine whether to use extended hours prices by navigating to Settings > Asset Settings > P/L calculation. Once you use extended hours prices, the latest prices for the extended hours will affect your positions and profits/losses.

11、What should be noted about extended hours trading?

Extended hours trading is considered curb exchange, and order prices for the extended hours may be subject to certain limitations from the upstream.

Only universal accounts are allowed for extended hours trading.

Due to generally lower liquidity and higher price volatility during extended hours trading, as well as potential restrictions from upstream securities companies and exchanges, your orders may be partially filled or not filled at all. Please be aware of the associated risks.
